Pour The Chocolate Syrup, Mademoiselle

I left my wallet at home today. So, I walked home from work at around 7 PM on foot. It only took me less than 15 minutes because I usually walk fast. After taking bath, I figured that I  left my Canon camera battery at my office. Even worse, It’d been charged for hours.

Okay, stop the whining. I still have strawberry and banana from yesterday. I want to eat something ‘chocolate-y’ today. So, I decided to make chocolate syrup for I only have  cocoa powder in my food supplies.

I searched for a while for the recipe. I decided to follow the recipe from this site. But, I’d use electric cooker. You can read and follow the original post. But, here is the modified version by me.

Gear

Electric rice cooker

Ingredients

(Serving size: -)

  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/8 tbsp salt
  • Some vanilla crystal for flavor

How To

Switch on the electric cooker. Mix water and cocoa powder (I used Dutch processed) in the cooking pot until even. Then, add sugar. Stir frequently. After it, add salt and vanilla crystal. Still, stir until the consistency is quite thick. Let it cool for some time.

Presentation

Dip the fruit over chocolate. Or, pour some chocolate on your fruit.

Tasting & Tips

Wowww… Nothing beats chocolate. Strawberry + chocolate or banana+ chocolate is just amazing. The syrup texture is not thick enough. I think that’s why it’s called syrup? For the tips, taste the sugar little by little. Get some time and taste. The original post suggests using 2 cups of sugar. If you want the syrup to be thick enough, add more sugar (or follow the original recipe). Or if you worry much about sugar intake, add some maizena (corn starch) with water .

It’s not complete without photographs. So, here are the results.

P.S. I installed ubuntu on my USB drive this afternoon. It’s really wonderful having OS in such a portable device.. For the next project, I’ll install Android in my another (will-buy-list) USB drive. Err, lose focus. Again.
